background

Throughout my year at BarkWeb as an Apprentice Web Developer, I have learnt many new skills and become a lot more confident when dealing with clients directly and over the telephone. This has made me grow as a person and enabled me to understand the requirements of clients so that I can assist them and offer technical support.

I have learnt how a website works and how much time and effort goes into building and creating a bespoke website. I have studied coding languages, used Photoshop and learnt how to build websites for clients which has been really interesting. I have gained time keeping skills to complete the tasks that were required of me. I have become quicker and more efficient at solving problems and this has been a massive learning curve.

Over the year I have been tasked with undertaking some exciting projects like building our office Rubix cube robot which is on display in the office and shown in some meetings as our pet project! I have been responsible for building our office and clients’ computers and upgrading them as required, as well as fixing them when there is a technical problem.

My favourite part of the apprenticeship is the team I work with. The team are very nice and friendly to work with and will help me when I need guidance. I am really grateful that I have had the chance to complete my apprenticeship at BarkWeb and the opportunities it has brought me. I am pleased to have recently been made a Junior Web Developer and I look forward to learning many more technical and programming skills to further develop my knowledge and experience.
