Citizens Advice are a well known national independent charity that provide free and confidential information and advice to assist people with money, legal, consumer and other problems, through their network of over 300 local branches throughout the UK.
We were approached to provide web design and web development services for several of the Citizen Advice branches. The first project we conducted for Citizen Advice was to create an online enquiry system, something they did not have at a national level. The cluster of East Sussex Citizen Advice branches (Eastbourne, Lewes, Hastings 1066, Rother and Wealden) were involved in assisting with the concept of the system and it was fronted by a contracted employee for a period of one year.
Once the project specifications had been drawn up, our team spent a good deal of time assessing potential privacy issues and how the system would be used by the individual branches.
Our solution allows online enquiries that are tailored via a logic based enquiry form, which can be modified to ask specific questions depending on the answer to the previous question. The system only allows enquiries to come from the local area and each branch can deal with their own geographical enquiries independently. This system has been promoted at national Citizens Advice conferences and is in use at multiple other Citizens Advice branches.
As part of the project we also designed and built each of the local Citizen Advice branches websites whilst fully adhering to the strict national brand guidelines and corporate branding. In addition, we provided group training across all the branches and are pleased to continue to fully support this very worthwhile public service.
